Tria’s yoga shoot
August 2nd, 2010My lovely and amazing friend Tria is a yoga instructor – she is building a website and wanted some photos of her practice. This was really fun – we drove up to Black Mountain Open Space Park and I did a lot of crouching in the grass to get these shots. I was trying not to think about the tarantula I saw last week in the area – ahhh, the benefits of photographing in nature.

Sat & Seth’s engagement shoot @ Mission Trails Regional Park
July 25th, 2010My dear friends Sat & Seth are getting married in August – they are an adorable couple and are so in lurve. I had so much fun shooting them at Mission Trails, a beautiful park that’s practically in the back yard of their new home (lucky ducks!). There are so many micro-environments there. I also was able to grab a few shots of them out in front of their new home, which was really fun.
I can’t wait for their wedding at the Thursday Club, which will be photographed by the talented Jenna of Flutter Glass Photography.

Shawn – business portraits
July 8th, 2010Today, I had a quick portrait session with Shawn, who wanted some professional business shots. I love shooting portraits outdoors, it can be a lot more visually interesting than the studio. On an overcast day like this one, the sky acts like a giant lightbox – lots of nice, even, diffuse light. This business park had some really fun reflective backgrounds, which was perfect for this type of shoot.

The models’ own vintage and contemporary clothing, combined with the summery light and the california brush made for some fun textures.
