I couldn’t wait to post some fun shots from Katy’s portrait photo session in Old Town San Diego from this morning – more coming soon!

I couldn’t wait to post some fun shots from Katy’s portrait photo session in Old Town San Diego from this morning – more coming soon!

My lovely and amazing friend Tria is a yoga instructor – she is building a website and wanted some photos of her practice. This was really fun – we drove up to Black Mountain Open Space Park and I did a lot of crouching in the grass to get these shots. I was trying not to think about the tarantula I saw last week in the area – ahhh, the benefits of photographing in nature.

My dear friends Sat & Seth are getting married in August – they are an adorable couple and are so in lurve. I had so much fun shooting them at Mission Trails, a beautiful park that’s practically in the back yard of their new home (lucky ducks!). There are so many micro-environments there. I also was able to grab a few shots of them out in front of their new home, which was really fun.
I can’t wait for their wedding at the Thursday Club, which will be photographed by the talented Jenna of Flutter Glass Photography.

I’ve been dying to shoot Sat & Seth’s engagement photos for a while now – so I couldn’t wait to post this preview of our session tonight.

More to come soon!
Today, I had a quick portrait session with Shawn, who wanted some professional business shots. I love shooting portraits outdoors, it can be a lot more visually interesting than the studio. On an overcast day like this one, the sky acts like a giant lightbox – lots of nice, even, diffuse light. This business park had some really fun reflective backgrounds, which was perfect for this type of shoot.

Pati is one of my oldest and dearest friends – who also happens to be an amazing photographer that just started her own photography business. Here are a few of my favorite shots from today. I love the eucalyptus grove and the ferns – they make for some fun textures and light!

Emma, Megan & I had a lot of fun shooting some candids and posed photos in the garden the other day.

I got the opportunity to shoot two of my dearest friends yesterday – Jenna of Flutter Glass Photography and Tria, a yoga instructor at Prana Yoga Center. The models’ own vintage and contemporary clothing, combined with the summery light and the california brush made for some fun textures.
I enjoy taking business portraits because they serve a purpose but are still really fun to do. I really love the lighting in these, they were taken @ the Santa Clara Convention Center at sunset.

Monika Elena is talented photographer and an amazing mom. I had the privilege of snapping some photos of her with her daughter during an impromptu shoot – they are both so photogenic!

Some head shots for an actor from LA taken in and around little Italy. I really had a lot of fun with this one – we worked with an amazing makeup artist on this shoot – Alison Christian.
